Glory, Glory: The glory days of Georgia Football

We are most certainly in unprecedented times when it comes to Georgia Football.

Over the last three years the team has easily been one of the most dominant football teams in the Southeastern conference and the nation. The current run — as it stands — spans across three years and over 1,00 days.

With the match up in Atlanta set with another battle for supremacy against Alabama, the dawgs are appearing in their sixth SEC title game in seven years and look to be a factor in the playoffs for the fourth time since 2017, looking to achieve the three-peat title run that has eluded many teams before.

Over the 1,000 plus day period, Georgia has not lost any game in 707 of those, has not lost a regular season game in 1,099 of those days, and have not lost a home regular season game in 1,500 days.

In his time since assuming the head coaching role, Kirby smart has amassed one of the most impressive resumes put forth by a head coach, going 91-15 since 2016.

Smart has taken this program to the next level every year and continues to bring intensity and expectations of being the best year in and year out. “Better never rests” is the mantra he has adapted for the 2023 season, and they have most definitely fulfilled that to the maximum improving each week this season.

Although being a destination school before now, Smart has transitioned this program to being a landmark for student athletes looking to compete at the college level and further.

These are very much the glory days of being a Georgia fan for myself and those alike.

We have seen years of success that usually derail into a typical season that although successful, leaves us wanting more and wondering what could have been that year. We have entered a time with our beloved program that we also have to be weary to not have knee jerk reactions to things that may happen that are different than what we have become accustomed to over the last few years, we all are aware that historic runs do not last forever.

Finally, we must revel in the time we are experiencing and not forget to live in the moment and continue to enjoy the accomplishments this team achieves going forward.
