With the NASCAR end of season awards ceremony only a few weeks away, voting for Most Popular Driver has officially opened up for fan votes.
Fans can go to nascar.com to find the submission forms to vote for their favorite drivers from each of the three series.
Since 1991, either an Elliott or an Earnhardt has been crowned the winner for the MPD in the cup series. Bill Elliott won the award 10 times in a row; streak being broken by Dale Earnhardt SR in 2001.
Bill Elliott won one last time in 2002, before the end of his career. Dale Earnhardt Jr won the award 15 times in a row, and Chase Elliott has won it the past 5 years.
However, fans across social media are stating this year will be the year that the streak is officially broken.
Votes for each of the MPD awards can be submitted daily.
