Tennessee Vols take on the Alabama Crimson tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium

TUSCALOOSA, AL. (Oct 21, 2023)- On Saturday, the 6-1 Alabama Crimson Tide take on the 5-1 Tennessee Volunteers. After last year’s devastating loss for the Crimson Tide, this year, they are looking for revenge.

Since 1901, The Vols and the Crimson Tide have had a deep rooted rivalry, resulting in 105 games played between the two teams. Over these 105 games, the Tide have won 59 games, and the Volunteers have only won 39.

On October 15, 2022, the Tennessee Volunteers pulled off one of their largest victories in the last 6 years against the Crimson Tide, besides their Hail Mary win against Georgia in 2016. Tennessee kicker Chase McGrath helped the Vols pull off the victory of the year, with a 40-yard field goal that was tipped, and barely went in.

Joe Milton III leads the Vols looking for a back to back win against the Tide, while Jalen Milroe looks to bring the glory back to Tuscaloosa.

Really, the question is, “ Can Alabama’s offensive line hold up against Tennessee’s stout defense?”

With Alabama’s offensive line allowing 31 sacks this season already, and Tennessee having 24 sacks this season averaging four a game, can Alabama manage to protect their quarterback?

Even under pressure, Milroe is still 3rd in the SEC with nine completions over 40 yards under pressure. This game is definitely one to keep your eyes open for, with Alabama having a 76.8% winning chance, and Tennessee at 23.2%.

Coverage begins this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on CBS
